Yes, if you have a U.S. bank account.* When you first purchase Slate Plus, choose the payment method option “Bank Account,” then click the button labeled GoCardless. It will open a new form to enter your information. After you submit that form, you will finish the checkout process.
*At this time, Slate can only process direct debit transactions in USD$ from U.S. bank accounts.
How to add a bank account to your existing Slate Plus subscription
If you are already a subscriber, you can add your U.S. bank account as a payment method for future transactions.
Step 1: Sign in to your Account
- Visit slate.com/account; if you’re not already signed in, you will be prompted to do so.
Step 2: Add your bank information
- Go to Subscriptions & Payments. In the Payment section of the page, click the link for “Add Direct Debit.” It will open a new form to enter your contact and bank account information. After you submit the form, it will close. Then click Save in the Payment section.
Step 3: Change your default payment method to direct debit
- You can change your payment method from credit card or PayPal to direct debit in two ways:
- click the link “Set as default” for the bank account you added
- click the link “Choose payment method” in the Subscription section, then choose the bank account
